Drains Blocked.....???
Handy Tip # 1: In the unfortunate event that you find yourself with a blocked drain, there are some things that you can do for yourself that may save you the unnecessary Call Out for a Technician;
-
If your toilet is blocked, on some occasions it is merely blocked inside the toilet bowl and may only require plunging to dislodge the obstruction.
-
If you feel courageous enough to attempt this task it may save you some money. If you manage to clear obstruction and the toilet then operates normally, then that may be all that is required.
-
On the other hand, if it does not clear or the problem persists, then it may be time to call in the professionals and this is where can help you.
Handy Tip # 2 If the whole drainage to your home seems blocked and you have water overflowing from a drain that looks similar to the one shown below;

Overflow Relief Gully/ Disconnector Gully
- The issue may be on your Private House Drainage system or on the Council's Sewerage Main.
-
If the drain is continuosly overflowing without ANYTHING being used on your property such as; washing machines, toilets, showers etc;........ then the issue appears to be connected with the Council's Sewerage main. You may be be the closest property to the issue and so the Overflow Relief point for the blockage appears to be your property.
-
In this situation as described above you need to contact your Local Council to attend to the problem as it is a Council issue.
-
If on the other hand it only happens when you use fixtures in your property and then the overflow occurs, then this is where we can assist you.
